THE GET DOWN

If you can bear the sterile exterior upon entering Colapasta, you will discover what can possibly be the most prized foodie treasure in Santa Monica, as well as the PREMIERE spot for the best pastas in town!

Michelin Rated chef, Stefano De Lorenzo, brings his high end culinary background to the kitchen here at Colapasta in a very casual and creative way.

Let’s start with the Casunziei, aka the half moon shaped Red Beet Ravioli in butter and poppy seed sauce. This pasta alone needs to be on every Angeleno’s bucket list. It is divine. The ever so thin dough creates small bites of sweet happiness. The sauce seals the deal creating a silky and unexpected layer of goodness.

The lasagnas is another melt in your mouth delight. Lasagnas vary by region and De Lorenzo’s northern Italian roots creates a perfect balance of thin and light noodles, layered between a meat ragu and easy cheese. It’s simply perfect.

From pasta perfection to Farmers Market salads and soups, no choice will be a bad one here at Colapasta. As of now, Colapasta’s menu has started off small and strong. That’s right, you won’t even notice that you forgot to order a glass of wine with your meal. Well, right now you don’t have a choice, as they are eagerly awaiting their liquor license.

Just when you thought Colapasta couldn’t get any better, I must add that all of this fresh and gourmet goodness doesn’t come at a steep price. That’s right! There is not one pasta on the menu over $14!! Bring a friend and order the menu. Heck, take a day off from cooking and bring the fam. Colapasta’s casual setting is the perfect spot for your screaming tots. If you have a runner on hands, I’m sure chef De Lorenzo will carry on the Italian tradition of serving the kids first.

There IS a reason for that ya know. Once your runner has a full belly of pasta, and has slowed down in a food coma, it’ll be YOUR turn to eat while it’s hot. Sounds dreamy doesn’t it? Ok, even if this is wishful thinking, Colapasta will be the most memorable meal you’ve had in a very long time.

For those with little
runners & screamers:

Easily forgiven:

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.

Not promoted, but you should take the chance:

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.

Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:

I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.

No contained area:

A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.

Enclosed, but space is tight:

If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
