THE GET DOWN
I haven’t until recently considered the Grove for happy hour until I was shopping at Monsieur Marcel one day and started talking to a woman that was sitting on their patio, eating cheese and drinking rosé just after 3 pm. How lovely.
A leisure trip to Monsieur Marcel is always interesting. Monsieur Marcel is in a nice quiet corner of the Original Farmers Market, away from the madness of The Grove itself.
This French Market has a fabulously extensive and colorful curated selection of European goodness; from books, to chocolates, to olive oils and imported meats… oh and champagne of course!
There’s always an interesting person and convo to be had.
And Yaaaaaas! Did I mention it was happy hour from 3-6pm? $6 House wines, prosciutto on a baguette with a fig tapenade and French fries! Could you ask for any more?
The kids can be as loud as they need to be. And if your screamer prevents you from enjoying your glass, they do have free bumper stickers at the counter inside. Put those to work any way you choose.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
