THE GET DOWN
The Marciano Art Foundation features works of contemporary artists, both well established as well as emerging. The building itself was fully redesigned and repurposed from a Masonic Temple into a 100,000 sq ft space that hosts traditional as well as unconventional art exhibitions, a café and on premise parking.
A popular ongoing exhibit features the works of Yayoi Kusama, “With All my love for the tulips, I pray forever.” This exhibit is an immersive viewing experience that the kids will certainly be fascinated by.
Some of the Marciano brothers’ permanent collection is housed on the top floor of the museum itself. Their collection focuses on all mediums: sculpture, photography, performance and digital.
As in any museum, the two feet away rule defiantly applies. If you are considering a visit with children under 4, just note that The Marciano Museum does not have a family room, or hands on activities for the kiddos like most established museums. They do have an outdoor garden and a café however, which serves as a great waiting area, should you come with a partner in crime.
And speaking of café… did I mention the pastries are recipes of the owner’s wife? They are deeeelicious! Especially that vegan chocolate banana muffin. Heck, I’d go back to The Marciano Art Foundation just to eat there again. The Marciano Art Foundation is free to the public. Reserving your tickets online ahead of time is required.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
