Where there is great food, Angelenos will travel. Please, allow this to be your mantra as you envision what can possibly be the best Thai meal of your life. And if it’s not the absolute best, then it will definitely rank right up there.
Why the mantra you might ask? Because Luv 2 Eat Thai is located in a very unassuming strip mall off of a dingy parking lot, smack in the heart of Hollywood. It’s one of those rare times when the setting can be overlooked in my book and my hard core foodie passion leads the way with blinders.
Luv 2 Eat Thai is one of the best meals you will have here in LA. The food comes out of the culinary expertise and vision of the traditionally trained chef duo, formerly of Hoy Ka, Chef Fern and Pla.
They were born and bread in the region of Phuket, bringing the traditional flavor of Thailand and Isan right into their kitchen. Whatever you do, please don’t order the Pad Thai, or any type of what you would think is traditional Thai. It’s just NOT that kind of place with so many unique, regional dishes to choose from.
Hope you like spice, because the Phuket Style Crab Curry will blow your mind. Suck the heck out of its inside and you’ll never ever look at Thai food the same. Order a side of sticky rice to go with it so you can absorb all of its juice left in the bowl. The Kua Ling with (curry coated) Spare Ribs fall right off the bone, and that crispy pork with broccoli is like no other.
Luv 2 Eat Thai packs out, so either get there at the very beginning of service hours or expect to wait upwards of … well, a long time. And did I mention Luv 2 Eat Thai is located off a dingy parking lot? GULP.
But rest assured, once you’re in you’ll forget where you are. If you are dining with a screamer, then everything will be A-ok. When this Bistro fills up, you can barely hear your dining buddy talk anyway. And that’s okay, because you won’t want to come up for air until your plate is clean.

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
