A fish market and restaurant that is casual enough to bring children. Santa Monica Seafood is the premiere seafood distributor of most stores throughout LA so chances are you’ve probably already tasted their quality fish even if you haven’t been to the physical store.
Stop in Santa Monica Seafood and pick up some fresh to take home to cook. If you are a fan of lox, sample the different types of smoked salmon and take some home for breakfast tomorrow. Or hit their happy hour from 4-6pm and you can get platters of fresh seafood and wine on special.
A bowl of clam chowder and a crabcake is the perfect small yet hardy meal. Though tempted to get the Ciopinno, ordering a small bowl of the chowder seems just as filling and….Mmmm delicious!
The sitting area at Santa Monica Seafood is pretty tight, and your little runner might find the need to play grocery store in the shop, but hey, at least there are options here. Dine in or bring home. Feel it out when you get there. It’s still a win win.

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
