THE GET DOWN

Hands down, Paradise Cove the most beautiful beach in Malibu! Paradise Cove is very intimate, as it’s enclosed by mountains and cliffs. You can walk along the shore if you want to whale watch too. I mean, the backdrop can only compare to the Amalfi Coast. A day spent at Paradise cove will definitely feel like you have been on a European vacation.

You can rent lounge beds, chairs and umbrellas at Paradise Cove. The OOOONLY snag is that this beach is on private property so therefore they are allowed to charge as much as they want for parking! And boy, do they ($35!). You can get validated and pay $10 which is good up to 4 hours of parking, but only if you eat at the Paradise Cove Café, which sits right on this strip of beach.

The food at the Paradise Cove restaurant? ehh. Stick with the simplest foods on the menu if you must eat there. The portions are GIANT (one dish can feed 2-3 people) but the vibe is loud and fun. You’ll certainly see plenty of oversized margarita glasses being handed around. Dining in the cafe will at earn you a free seat on the adirondack chairs right in front overlooking the ocean.

If you get to Malibu super early and feel comfortable enough to park along PCH, then walk carefully into this beach, you can avoid any type of fee. This way you can stay all day, as long as you pack plenty of food and a large enough umbrella.

Paradise Cove is a dream come true!

Rating System:

It’s our goal to make exploring LA either with the kids or with grown ups as easy as possible. Click through the tabs above to check out our rating system.

For those with little
runners & screamers:

Easily forgiven:

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.

Not promoted, but you should take the chance:

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.

Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:

I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.

No contained area:

A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.

Enclosed, but space is tight:

If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
