THE GET DOWN
What I would consider THE best burger in all of LA can only be found between the hours of 5:30 and 6pm at the bar of Hinoki & The Bird. And ironically enough, it’s also the only time acceptable to bring a young toddler.
Hinoki & The Bird is dimly lit and the beautiful mod furniture generally attracts a crowd that wants to get busy either in their cocktails, each other or business.
The garden is a great place for those with a runner. You’ll have a better chance of enjoying that burger if you bring a dining partner along and alternate watch in the garden area since it remains relatively empty during this earliest hour. The burger is worth every bit of sacrifice.
I must stress the small window between 5:30 and 6 pm for bringing the little ones before things get busier.

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
