If you’re in Pasadena and you want Italian food that’s as good as what you’d find in the city, then Union is your place. Make a reservation though because the space is narrow and tight. Or get there right when they open and not a minute later.
Seriously, the homemade pasta is in a league of its own. I wouldn’t recommended Union for the runners because it’s so compact, but if you want to take the chance, I’ll admire your courage. Screamers be warned. The place has an odd echo too, but taking a chance would be one of the best selfish decisions you have ever made.
Pack a ton of toys, crayons, tape? I don’t know what it is, but painters tape seems to work for Capri. Anything that keeps those little fingers occupied. Bring the ipad as backup and headphones for sure.
If you’re taking a jaunt to the Pasadena area, the food is worth the trip. On a side tip: the food does tend to run spicey. Even the meatballs are spicey and Capri NEVER refuses a meatball, but she did here. You might need to pack a small snack for the tot and let them go to town on the bread. Anything to make it work.

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
