THE GET DOWN
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to travel around the world in a day? If so, visit Huntington Gardens.
Huntington Gardens is 120 acres filled with lush green utopia located just east of downtown Pasadena. To give you just a small idea of its wonderment, Huntington Gardens has over 50,000 dry climate plants, the largest collection of cacti and over 1400 types of roses.
From the Japanese garden to the Australian garden, to the library of British & American History, sculptures and artwork, there is something to see at every turn.
There will be moments you will feel like you are in Alice and Wonderland and you never want this day to end. Until… you actually DO bump into Alice. Well, kind of. Just go through the blue door of the children’s garden and the spectacle of Huntington Gardens becomes pint sized.
Pack a ton of snacks, some extra changes of clothes (for the water activities) and enjoy the whole day there. Grab a pint sized sandwich at the Rose Garden Tea Room or a casual bite from a kiosk on campus.
There are some good food options at Huntington, but the gardens and grounds are the by far the MAIN attraction. Create your own garden fantasy right here and your life will never be the same.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
