THE GET DOWN
I love when a menu uses the phrase “to perfection,” as Raffi’s Place does. I mean, why stray. Wouldn’t YOU like a perfect meal? Yes, Raffi’s SHOWED UP BIG and I can instantly see why it’s an institution for Middle Eastern food in LA.
Raffi’s is a very large restaurant, so it’s an instant hit among the crowds who gather to share great convo’s with friends and family, or to celebrate special occasions.
A good half of the restaurant sits in an outdoor courtyard, which is great if you are dining with your little. They may enjoy the autonomy the space around them provides. Grant it, its not completely enclosed, but Raffi’s is big enough so that you WILL have the time to chase, once you finally notice they’ve climbed out of their high chair and packed enough so that other people will play goalie before they escape.
First off, Raffi’s does not over spice … at all, which is a HUGE plus because you can actually taste the quality of the ingredients, without being masked in a load of cinnamon, cumin, or za’atar!
The kabobs are the way to go at Raffi’s… and if you are looking for something just a little different and sweet, then the rice with cherries are a unique twist to your typical Basmati.
The portions are big enough to be shared, whether you are ordering a side or an entrée. You really can’t go wrong with taking the family to Raffi’s, and if you gather your favorite peeps and peepsqueaks, then you can order a bunch of things and try it all. Raffi’s is THAT kind of place!

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
