THE GET DOWN
If you need to completely remove yourself from the world one day to refuel, go HERE. Crystal Spa is one of the top Korean Spas in LA!
Crystal Spa is super clean and has great amenities which include: 3 heat rooms, a cold room, Jacuzzi, sauna, a cold pool, private nap rooms , a co-ed jimjilbang and Aveda products. In the jimjilbang is a cafe. Definitely order the seaweed soup.
You can also book massages and scrubs of all sorts at Crystal Spa which will lower your entry fee for the day. If not, expect to pay about $30 for free reign of the amenities. Arrive before 8:30am M-F and the entry fee is $15.
I HIGHLY recommend getting a full body scrub/polish with a massage for at least an hour. Lord knows you deserve it! An older Korean woman with eight kids told me exactly what to do at Crystal Spa, and all I can say is… I want to be her when I grow up. I follow her advice every step of the way.
Here’s what she said:
Start with the Red Room, then go to the cooler, the Charcoal Room, the cooler, The Fire room, the cooler. Shower. Then 30 minute hot tub soak before your service, THEN the body scrub/polish/massage for an hour, then lunch and nap. *DO NOT shower again after the body polish*
Your first experience at a Korean Spa can be overwhelming at first. A friend described her whole experience similar to the process of tenderizing meat. Ok, I never thought of it like that but she could be onto something.
The Korean Spa drains all the toxins out of you and leaves you super, super, super relaxed. And the next day? Rejuvinated! Alas!!
Please make a note that (weather its your birthday or not) your birthday suit is required in the locker room at all times. Yep, you have to be fully naked in ALL Korean Spas so make sure you go nice and groomed in all the right areas.
A uniform is provided for you when you step into the warm rooms in the jimjilbang.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
