With a focus on classic French Style pastries, Proof bakery has easily become a neighborhood staple in Atwater Village. Get to proof early and the lines will prove just that.
Proof is a family friendly kind of place. People take their time while grabbing a bite at Proof, which is the beauty of the place. There are only a handful of seats inside and out. If you’re dining with a runner or screamer, it’ll be ok. The vibe here is very laid back. Plus, once those tots get a hold of a chocolate croissant, they will settle in just right.
Proof Bakery’s claim to fame in the most recent years, has been its chocolate croissant. The chocolate croissant IS good, however, a few other menu items stand out above the rest. The spiced tea cake is a perfect compliment to a morning tea. And if you have a savory palette, then the quiche is the way to go.
The menu changes often at Proof Bakery, so there is always something new to look forward to. Get to Proof Bakery right at noon, when the sandwiches on the skinny baguettes have just been pulled out of the oven and into the case, and this will be the best decision you have made all day.

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.

A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
