THE GET DOWN
Il Colori is one of the best Italian restaurants in LA. I mean you gotta love an Italian chef/owner in the kitchen each time you roll in.
Though this particular area of downtown is sketch and the place looks like a dive… holy moly prepare to be blown away. Repeat: BLOWN AWAY! Order the Cioppino soup as soon as you get there because it will take 20 minutes to make and then work on planning your next visit with more people so you can try everything else on the menu.
Colori feels like you’ve walked into a restaurant in Bolognia, where ma and pa serve up the recipes of the ancestors, and every bite is more delicious than the next. When you need another meatball for the kid, the chef will tell you it’s coming right up.
Il Colori is small, family run, super casual and friendly. It’s A – ok if your toddler comes in with a bad case of the wiggles. Il Colori is old school like that. Put this place on your bucket list PLEASE. You’ll wish you had tried Il Colori sooner.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
