If you are looking for some good ol Fashioned family fun, then you’ve found your spot! I mean, where else is there to go for a marionette puppet show?
I didn’t even know that places like this existed until we visited the Bob Baker Theater. The Bob Baker Marionettes have been around since the 60’s. They are the oldest children’s theater company in LA. The Bob Baker theater itself is located on the most off the beaten path area of DTLA.
The whole experience is colorful, mystical, magical, but most of all… delightful! (wait… is there a song that goes like that?) The art of puppetry will keep your tots at the edge of their seat and entertain the kid in you! You will be brought to a place where cell phones don’t exist…whaaa? No seriously.
Going to a Bob Baker Marionette show is simply good old Fashioned fun. Shows change every so often so check their website for listings. Also, ask to take a peak backstage when the show is over. It’s small yet fascinating.

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
