THE GET DOWN
This San Francisco transplant has become a permanent fixture amongst the hippest fashion forward area of Culver City: San Fran the lines were out the door! So when Boba Guys arrived to platform I kept my fingers crossed in hopes that we stood a chance to see what this hype was all about.
If you know me, you would know that tea is my OBSESSION!! I drink pots of it all day long. There used to be a tea shop in Chicago, where I am from, called Ten Ren. Not only would I go there from time to time to mix, match and sniff a variety of loose leaf teas, but Ten Ren was also the ONLY place where you could get a hot boba tea, when boba wasn’t even a thing. It was small batch, artisanal and insanely delightful. That tea was a treat for me and made me very very happy.
I remember my disappointment when I showed up one cold winter day in Chicago and they were CLOSED! (Insert tears here) NOOOOO!!! I preface this by saying it wasn’t until BOBA GUYS appeared on the scene did I ever find a hot BOBA TEA again!!! There she was on the menu… a hot jasmine tea with Boba, just like I used to get in my Chi-town days.
Just as I approached the counter, I got distracted by all the options. Even I was surprised at what came next. “I’ll have a strawberry matcha latte please…Whaaaa? I waited at least 10 years to try another hot jasmine tea with boba and then I choked! I couldn’t help myself. The choices were overwhelming. I mean Boba Guys makes their syrups and jellies in house, the bobas are the right amount of soft and chewy aaaaand (drum roll please), they use unsweetened oat milk!!
I can’t say there are many places in LA like Boba Guys. IN fact, I can’t say there’s even another place like Boba Guys. Boba Guys is at the top of their game and are quickly become a thing… like avocado toast (gasp).
At any rate, I’ll let you know how the other flavors are as soon as I flip off of this Strawberry matcha latte. Sorry. This could take a while. Maybe this post can be a group effort. Let me know if you’ve tried anything else here and I can edit… lol. Boba Guys is THAAAAT good!

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
