THE GET DOWN
I think Valerie Echo Park is everything I dream of when waking up on a lazy Sunday morning. A place with a local, hip and laidback vibe; with an incredible tea selection, amazing bites and interesting people.
Valerie Echo Park feels like a neighborhood nook that you could show up to in your pj’s and be greeted just the same. The kids can pounce in, hyped up from the video games they just played while you were getting ready, and make as much noise as they please.
Ok, that could possible be an over-exaggeration, but you get the picture.
There are very few seats at Valerie Echo Park and most of them are outside on a quaint little cobblestone patio. So if you want to enjoy the morning paper alongside your amazing shitake soft scrambled, or pull into a late lunch and a good read, then I suggest coaxing the tots with a sweet treat if they are on their best behavior.
Don’t worry if you get a late start to the morning. Your favorite Breakfast is served all day at Valerie Echo Park. Tartines, delicious salads, plenty of sandwiches, pastries and desserts to go round. Whatever you are in the mood for, breakfast or lunch, Valerie will serve your needs.
Valerie is also a great spot for a playdate after set, a meet up with friends or a place to hide out if only for an hour. Every neighborhood needs a place like Valerie.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
