LA County Museum of Art
THE GET DOWN
LA County Museum of Art is always a fun museum to go to. Not only is this museum filled with floors of significant works of art that are continually changing, but LACMA encourages engagement that enhances your experience each visit.
The Boone Children’s gallery at LACMA is a free creative space where the entire family can brush paint or use mix medians provided to create anything your mind can imagine. Here at Boone, you can also register for a Next Gen pass which allows one adult guest and a child (up to 18 years old) free admission at LACMA. Now you have every reason to keep coming back.
LACMA also has a beautiful lawn. Every Friday evening in the summers, KJAZZ radio sponsors Grammy award winning music. Families are encouraged to picnic on the lawn (yes, you can bring alcohol) while the children are playing all around. There are also classical nights on Sunday in LACMA’s indoor theatre (Leo S Bing), as well as events and socials throughout the entire year.
If you get hungry, Ray’s restaurant sits on LACMA’s beautiful campus. You can enjoy a drink at the bar, or a sit down at the table. There is also a tea/coffee shop and cafeteria, should you choose not to picnic on the gorgeous lawn.
Definitely have a look at LACMA’s schedule to take full advantage of what it has to offer. They really encourage community involvement as it’s filled with wonderful surprises for all ages!

It’s our goal to make exploring LA either with the kids or with grown ups as easy as possible. Click through the tabs above to check out our rating system.
For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
