Book Soup
THE GET DOWN
It’s not that often I’ll write about retail, but Book Soup is more than JUST a store… it’s an experience. I’m a sucker for independently owned bookstores, I mean who isn’t in this day and age?
Book Soup arrived in the mid 1970’s and has clearly made a mark on the famous sunset strip. Book Soup carries over 60,000 titles specializing in art, film photog and music to say the least. Check out their website for all the author events they host too!
I can’t say I have that much time to read these days, but a visit to Book Soup puts me in my happy place. Capri LOVES playing in the kid’s section, I love to skim through magazines… It’s a win win.
They sell the most unique toys and books for kids here. Seriously, even adults can absorb some times in this kid’s nook. And Book Soup graciously leaves some on display to keep your tot the right amount of occupied while you walk closely around amazed at all of the other interesting books and trinkets Book Soup has to offer.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
