Balboa Park
THE GET DOWN
Balboa Park is one of the largest parks in the world. It is over doubles the acreage of the ever so famous Central Park in NYC. Balboa Park is an explosion of Culture and Nature. It should definitely be on every Angelino’s bucket list.
A plethora of adventures can be created with only ONE visit to Balboa Park. But I assure you, one visit will not be enough. Balboa Park plays host to several museums (including an Art, History, Photography and Science Museum), Gardens, Cultural Performances, an Organ Pavilion, Art Village/Workshops, and of course the popular San Diego Zoo.
The architecture here at Balboa Park is profound. Everything from Spanish Revival to Mid Century Modern can be found here. There are several dining options within Balboa Park as well. From casual cafés, coffee shops or pubs, to a full service restaurant (The Prado) in a Spanish Mission Style setting.
Check out the Balboa Park website for a detailed list of events and upcoming attractions. No matter if you’re planning an adventure with or without your favorite peepsqueaks, Balboa Park is an experience to remember.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
