THE GET DOWN
Playground in the middle of outdoor shopping? What can be better? The weekend seen at the Malibu Country Mart is superb for the whole family. If you come in teams, one can monitor the kids on the playground while the other one shops. Keep in mind that the playground is not enclosed, so it does require a bit more work if you have a runner and it’s also not shaded (kiiinda a buzz kill).
ON the brighter side, if you have a young tot that will play for hours in the sandbox alone, you are in luck because THAT part does have an umbrella of shade over it. Heading out to the Malibu Country Mart if you don’t live in the area is worth the scenic drive and change of pace from the hustle of the city.
Pack plenty of snacks so you can stay until every bit of energy is squeezed out of those kids. Then head to Nobu for a meal.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
