Tintorera – Permanently Closed
THE GET DOWN
Walking into the courtyard at Tintorera, you immediately feel taken away on a holiday trip to Spain. The pale pinks and greens are a subtle compliment to the palm leaves all around. The staff is even wearing colors of the tropics as the service seems to fit perfectly into this mold.
You immediately need a sangria and some ceviche as you watch the sky turn into dusk while chatting away with friends. If this isn’t your reality, then it should be. Journey to the city’s west side and let Tintorera take you away.
The menu is composed of mainly fish, so start by ordering one ceviche, some guac and the steamed mussels. The apps at Tintorera are quite filling so if you plan on firing up at least one entrée, then I’d say that you are off to a good start.
Bring a bag of tricks when you go to Tintorera because you WILL want to linger and the kid’s miiiight be ready to run before you get to that second drink. Tintorera is a great place to gather a bunch of your peeps with peepsqeaks.
However, if those peepsqueaks have picky palettes, then you might want to stash some snacks in your bag since the easiest food on the menu is guac.
Tintorera also makes a great place for a girls night out, or even a date night (yes, with your husband, remember him?). Whatever the occasion, if you are ready to escape, if only for a meal, then dream Tintorera into your reality.

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.

A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
