Kenneth Hahn Park/Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area
THE GET DOWN
An all age park when you feel like rolling with the homies. Kenneth Kahan is an urban gem in the city. Not only is it filled with kids, but families go all OUT on the bbq grill. And more than likely your little one will find a bouncy house party to crash and a duck or turtle to feed.
Kenneth Hahn park is one of the largest parks in LA. It’s over 300 acres. You can literally drive to any part you wish and you need to because the play areas are all spread out, as is the baseball field and the basketball court.
This park is not shaded however, and the play areas get quite heated. On days like those, bring a gallon of water and a loaf of bread and plop yourself by the pond. Your toddler will have a hoot feeding the geese.
Kenneth Hahn Park charges $6 for parking on the weekends. During the week, it’s free.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
