Virginia Robinson Gardens

THE GET DOWN

Places like this is why I LOVE LA!

With enough questions and research, hidden gems like the Virginia Robinson Gardens will periodically pop up. And when they do, learning about its cultural significance will more than likely be nostalgic, as was the case here.

The Virginia Robinson Gardens symbolizes the birthplace of Beverly Hills. Built in 1911 and once belonging to the first lady of Beverly Hills, Virginia Robinson, this luxury estate is Beverly Hills’ first.

The Virginia Robinson Gardens is open to the public but BY APPT ONLY! So yes, planning ahead is necessary (and is a lesson I am slooowly learning).

Take a tour through the Rose gardens. Work your way through forest like paths, graze or lose your tour group (but don’t tell anyone) and enjoy the winding roads within this estate. The Virginia Robinson Gardens will only make you dream about the gatherings of Hollywood Royalty that once graced these grounds.

All kids are welcome, but keep in mind the tour lasts an hour and a half and strollers are NOT conducive to going up and down all the stairs. Yes, I did learn the HARD way in case you’re wondering.

If you belong to a group/school, you can organize a group visits to the Virginia Robinson Gardens and do a nature walk. The Gardens also make for a very special place to take an out of town guest.

The historic beauty of the Virginia Robinson Gardens always leaves you with a lasting impression.

For those with little
runners & screamers:

Easily forgiven:

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.

Not promoted, but you should take the chance:

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.

Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:

I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.

No contained area:

A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.

Enclosed, but space is tight:

If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
