Sawyer – Permanently Closed
THE GET DOWN
Sophisticated, yet casual chic…Sawyer has one of the best happy hours on the east side of town.
Located next to its sister restaurant Kettle Black, you might have a hard time deciding which one to hit for happy hour UNTIL you realize that Sawyer’s happiest hour starts at 4pm… one hour earlier than Kettle Black. Yass…
Sawyer has the BEST happy hour ever. $4 Peroni’s, a $9 fried chicken sandy, and some french fries is all you need here! The bistro vibe at sawyer is fairly welcoming to young kids too.
The space is bright, open and airy. The people are cool, hip and friendly.. and the doors are, well, open all the time (drag). So grab a seat way in the back with your runner and hope for the best.
Unfortunately the enclosed patio in back does not open until the dinner hour, so pound a couple cocktails when you first hit the table and be prepared for anything.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
