Griffith Park
THE GET DOWN
Griffith Park is The Mecca of all parks!! It’s 10 times the size of NYC’s Central Park and should definitely be on every Angeleno’s bucket list!
If you enter Griffith Park on Fern Dell, you immediately feel as if you are entering an LA forest. But no bears here, thank goodness, or the TRAILS cafe would have to remain closed forever. Grab a morning coffee here or breakfast for the toddler and make a day of it. It’s a family scene all day long here at Griffith Park.
Tots love the hay circle behind Trails cafe, and if that bores them, then there’s a small playground across the way, along with streams AND hikes for any skill level. Drive up to the way top and then pop out again. You’ll see the Griffith Park Observatory overlooking breathtaking canyons. Just when you think that’s the top, find the hiking trail across the other side of the lawn that leads UP. Yes up. And keep going.
Bring plenty of water and snacks because you’re looking at over an hour round trip, especially with kids. After your hike, make your way down the other side of the mountain and you’ll see a driving range and an outdoor music venue. Griffith park is a one-stop shop. But wait… there’s more…
DRIVING down Los Feliz Blvd and turning onto Crystal Springs road will get you to the “other side” of Griffith Park. Here you may want to partake in pony rides, a golf course, a train museum, Shane’s park or even the ZOO! Griffith Park is the Perfect spot for an all-day all age affair.

Rating System:
It’s our goal to make exploring LA either with the kids or with grown ups as easy as possible. Click through the tabs above to check out our rating system.
For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
