Yamashiro
THE GET DOWN
Yamashiro has some of the most breathtaking views in all of LA. Even if you are not going to dine here (though rumor has it they recently went through a chef change), at least drive up to the top and pop out of the car to see what the hype is all about.
Yamashiro feels like a smaller version of gardens in Hong Kong. The beautiful walkways and center statue of Buddha will help forget that you are terrified of heights.
And if Buddha doesn’t work, Yamashiro has an outside bar with comfortable seating all around. A drink will be sure to put you at ease. The kids will be happy to be in a place they can dump out their crayons that you will eventually be forced to pick up.
The interior of Yamashiro feels like a large version of a Japanese tea room. The kids will have fun watching Koi fish in the gardens. If the price fixe brunch buffet doesn’t give you reason enough to go to Yamashiro, then visit on a Thursday night for Yamashiro’s night market. It is a blast!!
Yamashiro’s Night Market is held every Thursday in the summer from 5-9pm. They have everything from live music, food trucks ,face painting and a diverse crown for great people watching.
Even the kids are running circles around you, you will have no choice but to take it all in.
Those views though…they are everything.

For those with little
runners & screamers:
Easily forgiven:
Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.
Not promoted, but you should take the chance:
If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.
No contained area:
A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.
Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
